Slaying Dragons, ok fine, slaying 1 dragon and a whole bunch of whelps

Earlier this evening, Boris Brightbeard (Dwarf Priest) and Graccus (Human Paladin) from the Alliance, put away their differences with Gorebelly (Orc Warrior) and Kayleitha (Undead Rogue, me) of the Horde, and faced the mighty dragon Onyxia.

Ok fine, I know it's against the rules to play against Onyxia with both Alliance and Horde heros at the same time, but we're short of players. oh well..

Onyxia started the encounter by first targeting Graccus, the obvious threat. Paladins have access to all sorts of weapons and armours and the ability to heal making them very difficult to take down if left unchecked.

Stage 1 Onyxia with 20HP constantly targeted the Paladin, ignoring the attacks of the allies of the heros. This caused stage 1 Onyxia to lose steam quickly. All 4 heros survived stage 1.

Stage 2 Onyxia has 30HP. She quickly brought out whelp pit and summonded a small army of 6 1/1 whelps. Gorebelly responded with a demoralising shout causing the whelps to be reduced to 0/1 and relief for the other heros. However, the relief was short lived as Onyxia used another whelp pit while she destroyed the warrior's demoralising shout. 11 of the whelps targeted Graccus, enough to cause a fatal wound. The other 2 targeted the next target, Boris the Priest.

As Boris's class suggest, he is a healer. I suppose it is common sense for a dragon to take out the healers of the party first. But now The heros face an army of whelps of considerable size. This then as Kayleitha summoned Arnold Flem, a 4/2 Horde ally with the ability to deal 1 damage to all opposing heros and allies when he dies. As the dragon ignores the tiny rogue, she used Burinate to destroy all the hero's weapons, allies and abilities in play. Arnold fell as he takes the army of whelps with him while also dealing 1 dmg to Onyxia. She doesn't care.

Soon Gorebelly manages to equip a 7 cost Aranite Reaper and dealt 5 dmg as he swung, and Kayleitha equiped a 2 cost Barman Shanker and shanked an exausted Onyxia for 4 dmg and played a sinister strike for 5 dmg. 3 Heros enters stage 3.

Stage 3 Onyxia 50HP, has the ability to destroy all opposing heros when she has 20 resources. Time was against the remaining heros. Not long into stage 3, Onyxia summoned another army of whelps. Kayleitha responded by playing another Arnold Flem. Onyxia too, responded with Bellowing Roar and bounced Arnold flem. The whelps then proceeded to kill Boris.

And then there were 2. The weapons of the heros left were soon destroyed, or eaten. Kayleitha later managed to summon Arnold again, but Onyxia wasn't going to make the same mistake of killing him again. However, Kayleitha used a sinister strike on Arnold herself sacrificing her own ally to wiped out the army of whelps. A heart breaking moment. Gorebelly soon made the final blow to Onyxia and the heros were victorious. What's left of them anyway.

And that was how a dragon and a big bunch of whelps were slained. Horde pwnz.

A great disturbance in the order, as if millions of voices cried out to say "oh shit".
